Monthly Writing Mentorship

Need an experienced guide for the writing journey?

This group mentorship might be for you.

Once a month, I host a writing retreat where we meet via zoom and, while muted, dedicate those 90-minutes for writing. Participants have said it is their most productive writing time, and have been amazed at the progress they've made on their projects.

Also once a month, I host a Lunch and Learn where we meet via zoom and I teach something about writing, there's a Q & A and there is opportunity for my assessment of a written piece of yours as well.

Join one meeting, join them both, it's all available for the same affordable price of $29/mo.

How Can This Help?

One of the biggest challenges every writer faces is getting the writing done. We get stuck for so many reasons - distraction, procrastination, confusion - and it keeps many from getting down those important words.

Worse than that, it keeps those words from being shared with the world.
Stories remain untold, legacies unpassed, and the messages unshared.

But that doesn't have to be your story anymore!

By joining this community of writers, you can take a brave new step toward telling your story, getting that message down, and perhaps, one day, to share it with others so they can benefit from your important insights.

This is where it starts. We write. Together.

Who Is This For?

* Starting-out writers who are not sure how to begin (and might not refer to themselves as writers)
* Those who feel stuck with writing
* Those who want to tackle that writing project but can't seem to find time

Fiction, non-fiction, short stories, books, blog posts, novels, articles, journals, course materials, college papers... all of these have been accomplished by members in these sessions.

Still not sure if this is for you?
Email me your thoughts or questions. I'd be happy to talk with you!

How Does This Work?

Writing Retreats

Lunch & Learns

Once a month we meet via zoom using the same link each time.

  • Each meeting begins with 10 minutes of a brief greeting and everyone saying what they plan to work on during the session.

  • Then, for the next 70 minutes, we write. Cameras on, microphones off. This focused work time in the presence of others is highly productive. Members have been amazed by the progress they have made just by dedicating this focused time to writing on a regular basis.

  • Each session ends with a 10-minute check-in, where we share how we did. This is not necessarily about reaching a goal or checking a box, and it’s definitely not about comparing or proving anything to anyone. This check in time is more about self-awareness, community, and accountability. Plus, it's super fun and energizing to see the grins on others' faces and celebrate together.

Once a month we meet via zoom using the same link each time.
  • These 45-minute sessions are scheduled during the lunch hour (CDT) on weekdays so you can join even if you're at work or school

  • Structure will depend on the level of member engagement - if questions are exploding in all directions like popcorn, I would be thrilled to engage in Q&A the whole time! If there are not really any questions, I'll come prepared with a topic to teach on. Either way, the goal is the same - I'm there to help you with your writing however I can.

  • If you have a written piece you would like my feedback on, send an excerpt to me ahead of time (1 page max) so I can read it before our meeting. At the meeting, I will present my evaluation to the group for everyone's shared benefit. (And don't worry, I'm kind and I'm on your side)

A Bit About Me

I love people. I'm the INFJ, counsellor-at-heart, fascinated by the person in front of me at any given moment kind of person.

I love story. Fact, fiction, short or long, fast or slow, stories are embedded with truths that help us understand and connect with ourselves and each other. One of the saddest things to me is when stories remain untold. I guess that's why I'm so passionate about helping others get their stories written down.

I've been a professional writer for about 20 years, and a coach and mentor (and editor) for about half that time. I've learned a lot about storytelling and the art and practice of writing - I would love to share what I know to help you with your own storytelling.

Hope to see you inside!
