Complex Trauma Coaching
"I always feel SO much better after we talk!" - U.N.
My Personal Story Growing up in a home with addiction and multiple mental health issues, I walked away traumatized, with addiction and mental health issues of my own. As a result, I have deep compassion and understanding. I know exactly what it's like to feel like an alien in this world, to have anxiety, to struggle with addiction, procrastination, body image issues, flashbacks, immense grief, shame, abandonment, and so many other things that complex trauma entails. I also know what it’s like to be in recovery, to grow in health, and become more and more whole. My recovery journey from addiction and complex trauma continues, and has been in process for nearly a decade. I would love to walk with you through the dark or difficult stuff to find freedom on the other side. Because trust me, there is freedom. |
What You Can Expect I help people overcome thoughts and behaviors that interfere with their lives. Here’s my perspective: we work together, but you are in control. You steer, I’ll point out road markers. You press the gas however hard you want, and I’ll point out the scenery that’s behind us, before us, and all around us as we go. All the while, I’m going to listen deeply. Perhaps like you’ve never been listened to before. This will be some of the deepest, most challenging, and most rewarding work you’ve ever done. We can talk about anything. Anxiety, shame, guilt, procrastination, loss, grief, relational difficulties, addiction, body image issues, abuse, and complex trauma are some examples of the areas we can cover.

Client Experiences
In my years of helping others I’ve been on the frontlines, connecting with people who were experiencing addiction, homelessness, and abusive relationships. I’ve listened to clients share their experiences of sexual abuse, generational racism, addiction, and childhood abandonment.
As they have dared to trust me with their hearts and stories, they've often expressed things like, “No one has ever listened to me like this before.” or “I feel SO much better after we talk!” and “You really listen. For people coming from complex trauma, that’s a big deal”.
Likewise, my professors, supervisors, and colleagues have shared the kind of super-positive feedback that chokes me up: “You are compassionate, wise, and gifted. You listen deeply and ask really good questions”, “You know your stuff!”, and “Kim is warm, genuine, safe, and really gifted at this.”
Clients have repeatedly affirmed over the years that what sets me apart as an excellent helper to their cause is my knowledge, empathy, warmth, authenticity, and ability to see in them the gems they didn't even know were there.
