From Goal to Plan
Goals are great, but... just writing "write a book" on a post it and looking at it everyday won't actually get the book written. We need more than that.
We need a plan.
When I was sitting down with pen and paper listing goals I wanted to achieve in 2019, I was pumped. There were so many, and I was excited about ALL of them.
Then I turned the page and started mapping out the PLAN for each one, and the excitement drained away (as did the color in my face, I'm sure), like a scene in a horror film where the background drops away and the person's terrified face zooms close with dreaded realization. So it was as the bottom fell out of my happiness.
The goals were fun to write down, but mapping the way there with a plan? Ugh. Gag me with a spoon. It felt like every step had another thirteen steps to it, each of which spidered out with thirteen steps of their own. Gaaah!!! How the heck was I supposed to plan my way through that?
How the heck was I going to make the goal of "write and publish my memoir" into bite-sized, actionable weekly steps that were laid out and done in sequence??
And that was only ONE goal. There were others, and they all had spidering tasks attached to them, all of which also spidered.... 😮
But I worked it through, creating a process along the way that I could filter all my goals through, systematically breaking them down into bite-sized, actionable STEPS that were so basic and so actionable I could even schedule their pieces into each week!
If you could use a step-by-step guide to take your goals from abstract to achievable, this is for you!
